Field Notes
Bay vs Beach
Waldport covers both Alsea Bay (Dungeness crabbing & bay clams) and Waldport Beach (razor clams). Same tide station, different experiences.
Summer Tides
June features some of the deepest minus tides of the year — down to −2.0 ft. Exceptional razor clamming June 13–18.
Best Window
Arrive 1–2 hours before low tide. The lower the number, the more beach exposed and the better the dig.
What to Bring
Clam gun or shovel, mesh bag, ODFW license, rubber boots. Crab rings if targeting Dungeness in Alsea Bay.
